Who We Are

WVT of Texas, Inc. is one of the transportation and logistics entities owned by company founder Thomas R. Schilli. For over 40 years, Mr. Schilli has been the driving force behind a family owned group of companies that includes flatbed carriers, van carriers, specialized carriers, loading services, warehousing, logistics and brokerage. We are a flatbed trucking company with a home office in Crockett, TX and a satellite terminal in St. Joseph, MO. Founded in the mid 1990's, we have grown to 90+ trucks with over 135 flatbeds. Our customer base is managed through the vast logistics services of Schilli Transportation Services and includes 'Fortune 500', year-around shippers that share our common goals of establishing long term relationships and providing quality service. Shippers that respect drivers, carriers and safety. Over the years, we have specialized in transporting wallboard, gypsum products, lumber and steel. Presently we operate 135 flatbeds with 75 company trucks and 20 owner operators.

Our Equipment

Our Company equipment are all late model 2005 through 2007 Columbia Class Freightliners. These tractors are the mid-roof design with CAT engines and Super 10 transmissions. All of our trucks are Qualcomm satellite equipped for efficient dispatch and communications. Click on the 'Equipment" link for a picture of one of our company units.

Our trailers are all 48' flatbeds with a 9'6" spread axle (allowing 39000 lbs on the tandems). Our tarps are two piece fitted tarps with 6'6" drop sides.

Our Primary Operating Area

Our primary operating area is Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri and the surrounding States. (see "Primary Operating Area" link) Our primary shipping points include: Sweetwater, TX, Dallas, TX, San Antonio, TX, Houston, TX, New Orleans, LA, Brownsville, TN and St. Joseph, MO. In addition, we routinely move freight in and out of Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Colorado and New Mexico.

Professional Driver Compensation and Benefits

Our driver base includes a cross section of the industry ranging from younger drivers with only a few years of experience to the 'old veterans' with upwards of 40 years experience. We are an equal opportunity employer looking for 'experienced safe drivers'. We are searching for professional drivers who are looking for a home where they are respected for their experience and can earn a good, honest income for themselves and their families. We offer a very competitive pay package where a company driver can earn from $45000 to $55000 in their first year. Most of our drivers are home every weekend and many are home once or twice during the week. We take great pride in trying to meet your family needs as well as your income needs.
