Owner Operators Welcome

WVT of Texas has opportunities for professional owner-operators. We welcome independent contractors with a strong business sense and a desire to succeed. We utilize the national load finding capabilities and customer base of Schilli Transportation Services and WVT of Texas. Our base of customers includes 'Fortune 500' type shippers that understand and respect the business side of the transportation industry.

Our Owner Operators are most successful when they utilize our drop trailer pools at various customers. At these customers, your loads are primarily 'drop and hook' thus reducing or eliminating the non-revenue producing waiting time. In addition, by utilizing the trailer pool program, our Owner Operators do not have the initial investment in tarps and equipment.

We also offer an innovative fuel surcharge program. The program compensates a 'per mile' fsc for all dispatched miles, loaded and empty, even if a particular load is not paying a fuel surcharge. This program allows you to preplan your estimated fuel surcharge compensation without worrying about individual shippers or loads.

Owner Operator Program Highlights

Owner-Operator - Driver: Minimum 1 year OTR experience with at least 6 months flatbed experience. Must meet all DOT requirements, STS requirements and pass DOT drug screen and DOT physical.

Tractor: Mechanically sound - Appearance must be acceptable to properly represent WVT of Texas and our customers. Weigh less than 19000 lbs. Must have a headache rack. Must pass a DOT inspection at a Schilli National Lease shop.

Fuel Card Issued (Comdata) Fuel deducted weekly

Units must be Qualcomm equipped: Lease or purchase available.

Insurance available - deducted from settlements: Collision, Bobtail and Occ/Acc. (Call for details and costs)
